Event Details

Farmer House Museum in Bloomington, Indiana, is the legacy of Mary Ellen Farmer and her husband Ed Farmer.  The museum showcases Mary Ellen Farmer’s dedication to preserving 20th century Americana; the creative endeavors of her mother, sister, and aunt; artwork by women; and women filmmakers (Madelyn Ritrosky, Emily Purcell, Karen Holtzclaw, Terri Farley, Kalynn Brower) using the museum for recent/current movie projects.  In addition, the September artist with an art exhibit in the Bellevue Gallery (inside the museum) is a woman – painter Mary Mayhew.  And, Farmer House is run by a woman, director Emily Purcell.  When you visit, you can learn about and watch trailers for Stardust & Moonbeams (currently playing festivals), Airwave Adventure (in post-production), and Making the Scene (in pre-production) — all short films directed by women.
