Santa Fe Premiere: A Week of Screenings and Events

September 30, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - October 6, 2016 @ 7:00 pm UTC-6

A story that values soulfulness, foregrounds simplicity, quiet and stillness, it offers a glimpse into an unacknowledged America:

The endless desert. A Native American grandmother lives alone tending her corn. Her half-Mexican grandson and a white, aging magician are stranded. No water. A river of stars. Everything changes: anything is possible.

After being honored with eleven awards on the film festival circuit, She Sings to the Stars is thrilled to return home for its Santa Fe premiere to where it was shot and home to most of its production crew. “A break-through film that blazes a new trail into the forests of consciousness” – John Perkins, Founder of Dream Change and the Pachamama Alliance

The film raises enduring questions, yet touches on the zeitgeist when it comes to the current ecological crises of the planet and the human spirit, asking: What exactly is ‘reality’? What is ‘magic’? And who are the real magicians? Tom Verner of Magicians Without Borders, says, “The film is as still and deep as the night sky. How the dry soul of our world needs the water of films like this.”

Described as “a film to be experienced”, She Sings to the Stars takes time so you have to make the decision to be a part of it. Says actor, Sam Waterston, “It’s not an ordinary look at the world, you will find the images and the vision coming back to mind long after you’ve finished watching. Watch on the biggest screen you can get at: in this movie, the size of the night sky matters.”
