Directed by Women Timeline Expansion Blitz (6 hours)
September 15, 2016 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm UTC-4
Did you miss the Directed by Women Timeline Expansion Extravaganza? Or had so much fun you want more?
Join us for this slightly pared back version – only 6 hours this time – on September 15, 2016. That will be at the halfway mark of the #DirectedbyWomen Worldwide Film Viewing Party.
I’m not going to repeat all the details about how to contribute to the list of women who have directed film and their timelines. The info can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1142449389124690 or ask and I’ll point you in the right direction.
We’ll be coordinating the September 15 Blitz on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/1088222104598201/
Here are the basics:
We’re growing the content on #DirectedbyWomen website:
1) Edit TheMovieDb to include films #DirectedbyWomen with release dates, director credits, keyword “woman director”, posters, stills (backdrops), youtube videos, descriptions, IMDb ID, run times, and other details. Also profile images and descriptions for the directors. Use form to share directors’ TMDb IDs so this info will be included on #DirectedbyWomen Timelines: http://ow.ly/OeCOh This information will also become available to tens of thousands of film websites and film lovers. Let’s get the information out there!
2) Add social media and film related web links to directors’ listing on #DirectedbyWomen Use form to share: http://ow.ly/OeCOh
3) Share interviews, Q&As, podcasts, profile pieces and other online resources that give insight into women directors and their work (not reviews though). Use form to share: http://ow.ly/OeCOh This information will be available on #DirectedbyWomen Timelines.
Example of a #DirectedbyWomen Timeline:
What’s at the heart of this initiative? The desire to notice, honor, appreciate, celebrate and SHARE about women film directors for the benefit of the entire global film community…
It is richly rewarding to put our own attention on the film work women have been bringing into the world. So.. join in. There’s SO much to do, but together we can make light work of it. And enjoy the process. Invite everyone you know.
I hope you’re enjoying the #DirectedbyWomen Worldwide Film Viewing Party and are finding ways to create celebration in your communities.
